Louie B. Mendoza, DDS

Cosmetic and General Dentistry

Hi, I'm Dr. Louie Mendoza. I grew up in Milpitas, California, and attended the University of California at San Francisco. I've worked as a dentist for 28 years.

I've been in dentistry since 1995 and have enjoyed serving the Kensington community since 1998. I have been happily married for 24 years and have two wonderful sons. I enjoy running, hiking, fishing, traveling, and, most of all, long dinners with family and friends.

I love everything about dentistry. I love working with my team every day. They feel like an extension of my family. But what I love most is that I get to help people by using my hands to create a healthier and more beautiful smile. It brings me joy, from diagnosing the problem to designing, sculpting, and ultimately restoring a single tooth or restoring a full smile. As I enter my 28th year of dentistry, I still want to learn all that there is to know about restoring teeth. Every week I spend time outside of the office taking continuing education classes to figure out new ways to improve patient care. Recently, I realized that the more I learn about dentistry, the more my passion for dentistry increases. I love what I do.

Cecie Mendoza

Business Manager

Hi, I’m Cecie. I grew up in San Jose, CA. I graduated from San Jose State University and majored in Advertising and Marketing. I enjoy the adventure of exploring new restaurants and traveling to unfamiliar destinations alongside my husband of 24 years and our sons.

I am honored to serve as the Business Manager at Dr. Mendoza's office since 1998. With a passion for dentistry and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care, I take pride in managing the day-to-day operations of our practice and ensuring a seamless and pleasant experience for both patients and our team.

A well-organized and patient-centric dental practice can have a profound impact on the overall well-being of our patients. My primary goal is to create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable, valued, and well-informed about their oral health. I strive to maintain open communication with patients and our team, ensuring everyone's needs are met efficiently and with a smile.

Katie Preston, RDAEF

Clinical Manager

Hi, I’m Katie. I grew up in Fremont, CA in the town of Niles. I went to school at Western Career College in Pleasant Hill, and graduated in 2002.

I’ve been in dentistry since 2002 and have worked with Dr. Mendoza for 19 years. My family and I live in Oakland. We love to cook and entertain. Our 11-year-old is becoming quite the chef like his father. I’m the official taste tester of my family.

I’ve been in dentistry for a long time; I love what I do, mostly because I get to do it with this fantastic team. What excites me about dentistry is all the new technology and how we integrate that into our practice. I love making same-day crowns and using our 3D printer for making same-day appliances. I can’t wait to see how 3D printing changes dentistry. I’m lucky to work for Dr. Mendoza because he supports my dental nerdiness. We have fun planning and executing challenging cases.

Natalie Borreani

Registered Dental Hygienist

Hi, I’m Natalie. I grew up in El Cerrito, CA, and attended El Cerrito High/San Francisco State University. I completed my Dental Hygiene Degree at Diablo Valley College and have worked as a Dental Hygienist for eight years. The last three and best years have been at Kensington Dental. I enjoy traveling, hiking, wine tasting, and spending time with family and friends.

I love connecting and creating relationships with patients. The best part about my job is helping people and seeing positive results with patients’ periodontal health.  I love cheering for patients when they reach their oral health goals.

Maggie Puryear

Registered Dental Hygienist

Hi, I’m Maggie. I grew up in Alameda, CA, and attended hygiene school at San Joaquin Valley College in Visalia and graduated in 2010.

I’ve worked as a Dental Hygienist for 13 years and started working for Dr. Mendoza at the beginning of my career. My husband and I have two young children and love spending time with them during our off time.  I enjoy spending my summer days at the pool, traveling to Hawaii, and taking my kids to the park or library near our house.

I love working for a family practice because I love to build relationships not only with my patients but also with their entire family. Patient education on oral health and building trusting relationships with my patients is why I wanted to become a Dental Hygienist.

Bianca Garcia

Clinical Assistant

Hi, I’m Bianca. I grew up in Oakland, CA, and attended the Dental Assisting program at the College of Alameda. I’ve been in dentistry since 2018 and have worked with Dr. Mendoza since 2022. I have a son named Juanito and a wonderful fiancé Eduardo. We enjoy long car rides and spending time with family.

I love what I do!  What I do not only makes patients smile but also makes them happy and healthier. My passion for dentistry started when I was younger. I had a wonderful childhood dentist, and he inspired me to want to “turn frowns upside down!” Seeing patients’ reactions to their dental work is rewarding—seeing how happy they are is just the cherry on top. I love it!

Jennifer Vital

Patient Relations

Hi, I’m Jennifer. I grew up in El Cerrito and started working in the dental field over 20 years ago. I am married with three children and enjoy taking road trips as a family. I have an affection for cacti and consider myself a plant mom. I love sports and grew up playing competitive basketball. You can always catch me rooting for the Warriors!

Working in dentistry has been a rewarding career to be a part of. I love learning about new technology through continuing education which has helped to transform our dental community. Communicating knowledgeable information to our patients to help them understand their dental insurance benefits and treatment options has been the icing on the cake for me. I always approach dentistry from the patient’s perspective and help assist in any way possible. Being a part of Kensington Dental Care has taught me that we are not just a team but a family.
